New seat LPG Car Models

SEAT was founded in May 1950 by INI, the National Institute of Industry, a state-owned industrial holding. During the first half of the 20th century, Spain had a very limited automobile market, especially compared to other European countries. The production of automobiles was limited and those that were produced were mainly luxury. SEAT has its origins in 1940 with the foundation of SIAT (Iberian Automobile Company of Tourism) by the Spanish bank Banco Urquijo. The objective was to establish the mass car market in Spain and initially it would become a private company, but the INI took over after Franco's decision. Because Spain had no experience in the mass production of its own automobiles, it was looking for a foreign partner. However, World War II developed and Spain was still recovering from its own civil war, which delayed the project.

In 1982, Volkswagen planned to get closer to SEAT after Fiat's retirement. Seeking to make VW a global force, Volkswagen sought to create a factory in Spain. However, it was also at this time that SEAT was also in talks with other companies, including Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi. However, SEAT chose Volkswagen and partnered with them in 1982 to produce the Volkswagen Passat-Santana and Polo-Derby models. This ended the production of Panda SEAT in Landaben due to the need to build Polo.

  • 07/25/2013 Gas LPG Seat Altea XL, New Official Car of the Mayor of Madrid

Ana Botella has a new official car. It is a SEAT Altea XL to LPG and manufactured in Spain. The mayor of Madrid arrived yesterday at the Seat Altea XL for his first official act: the signing of an agreement with the president of Repsol, Antonio Brufau, to promote the use of vehicles powered by LPG. The LPP Seat Altea XL replaces the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid with gasoline and electric engines, which Ana Botella inherited from its predecessor, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón. Previously, the Prius had replaced the armored Audi A8 for which the City paid 150,000 euros per year. As for the Prius, with the Seat Altea XL it has been possible to reduce the monthly rate by 13% (now, they pay 667.20 euros compared to 766.94 euros, VAT included in both cases). The new Ana Botella official car was manufactured entirely in the factory that the brand has in the Martorell headquarters, and the changing vehicle was carried out at the end of the "lease" contract of the Toyota Prius Plug-In. In addition, the LPG fuel used by this Seat Altea XL represents an estimated economy between 40% and 50% compared to conventional gasoline. LPG is a mixture of propane and butane that is stored in a liquid state and emits less pollutants into the atmosphere. It does not contain sulfur, lead and other metals that increase the greenhouse effect and significantly reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides compared to diesel, and those of carbon dioxide compared to a car to gasoline. Madrid City Council has called this Seat Altea XL a "mid-range vehicle, practical and comfortable, but austere and respectful of the environment".
