    The Toyota Camry Hybrid, with its hybrid gasoline-electric motor, is already one of the cheapest cars on the market. But Orbital engineers were convinced that they could do even better. They paired with their latest generation LPG liquid injection system with the Camry Hybrid. What they developed was an ultra efficient tri-fuel vehicle that is truly revolutionary.

    The Orbital system pumps LPG at high pressure to the intake manifold via a liquid LPG injector. LPG vaporizes immediately, which also causes rapid cooling of ambient air. This rapid cooling increases the density of the air, which improves the efficiency and performance of the engine. The power output of the engine improves, as does the low power torque. The system is controlled by an electronic control unit (ECU) which is a dedicated computer that regulates the different components. The ECU works in conjunction with the gasoline computer of the car itself to optimize the injection time.

    In what was not a scientifically controlled test, the Camry Hybrid LPG was clearly the winner. The cost of fuel was almost 40% lower than the same Camry Hybrid fuel, which came in second. The 4.0L full-size Ford Falcon, with liquid injection, came in third, beating the smaller 4-cylinder gasoline Lancer. The cost of the Falcon fuel was 23% lower than that of the Lancer. It was also interesting to note that the 6.0L Holden V8 powered by LPG had lower fuel costs than the 2.7L Turbo Diesel Territory. This is further proof that, regardless of the displacement of the motor, liquid LPG injection works and works well. LPG cars also do not have the problem of carcinogenic diesel exhaust.
