The price of LPG in France reflects the evolution of the different components (propane price, processing level, transport and distribution level, taxation).

On the one hand, it is determined by the price of oil, which depends on short, medium and long-term fluctuations and forecasts of oil supply and demand. It also depends on the price of natural gas and varies by 5-10% around one of the three basic categories of oil traded on the international markets.

The French government has approved a "fuel discount" that will come into effect on 1 April and will be valid for four months, until 31 July. The discount will amount to €29.13 per 100 kilograms of LPG for petrol and diesel. The discount can increase up to 18 cents per litre, depending on the VAT rate applied to petroleum products. These levels vary according to the French territory.
